We rang up Chelsea F.C. and offered them our hard earned money in exchange for putting our logo on their team shirts, but Ronan, or whoever the foreign sounding guy on the phone was, said he didn't need our cash at all. The cheek of it! So off we trundled to a small Hertfordshire club called Austen Arrowheads and gave our millions to the Under 8s Blues. The idea is to get youngsters into football and teamwork and whilst I didn't see any scissor kicks or somersaults, I did see a huge amount of enthusiasm. And that's what counts at this age. The more Under 8s playing football with their mates, the less that are likely to end up sniffing UHU, wearing hoodies and nicking your Xbox.

Thanks to Team Coach Dave for arranging everything and getting pj and myself some adult sized Dodo Austen Arrowheads shirts. We'll wear them with pride and if Luke and the gang want a kickabout we'll give it our best shot (but beware of pj's bone-crunching tackle. he plays to win!).
