There's something about Volkswagens that we love. They have always been ever so slightly cool, although beige Jettas really do push that theory to the limit. They're nicely made. And people love to modify them, usually by sticking Porsche and Audi bits on them, as they often fit.

Therefore, it is no surprise that the Dodo loves dubs, dubbers and all things dub related, including the dubfest at Telford called Ultimate Dubs 2009. We went along with our gazebo and the Blingo, feeling a bit naughty, bringing 200bhp of gallic van into the teutonic arena.

Anyway, the stand looked the nuts, Gaz came along with his mate Nathan, who lent us a spanking Golf GTi Special Edition for the stand, and we had to beat the eager Dodo lovers off with a manure encrusted stick. Dom even did a machine polishing demo and got heckled by some gibbon who thought removing scratches with a wool pad was all an elaborate con trick. Believe us, if there was an easier way involving a rabbit and Debbie McGee, we'd be doing it already. but blitzing swirls is pretty impressive and it must seem like magic to some.

Memorable moments? Well, it was great fun sharing a stand next to one of our resellers, Elite Car Care... and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting lots of lovely people, including the delightful Sarah C from Performance VW magazine. We even got a Dodo flag up in one of the other halls, where the Meguiars man couldn't miss it. Result all round.
