We were going to have a demo car here, but personal circumstances meant it never made it, but no matter. We chatted the chat and sold the Juice, and the weather was lovely.

We also helped Clive to win the concours event by supplying him the Supernatural wax that helped him to win ‘best of show’ with a rather natty looking 993, painted in the best 993 colour ever, Iris Blue.

Elsewhere, Clive’s charming mrs was running the kid’s colouring-in competition, and Dodo Juice sponsored this event with a few notes extracted from the cash tin. So we had beans on toast for a whole week afterwards, just so the kids could go to Toys’R’Us. But that’s just the way we work.

Artistically, the standards were very high, and some real creative excellence was on show – mainly from the girls, which surprised us as it was all about colouring in a boy’s wet dream – the Porsche 911. One of the best entries had Martini stripes, which shows how good the kids were... well done to those who took part.

Finally, thanks to Jim and Taryn from Auto Perfection, who turned up to detail the car but ended up helping at the stand a little. At least they got a bacon sarnie and walk around the wonderful museum.
