With a foot of snow on the ground, it was less than perfect weather to sell detailing products to the hardy crowds of Birmingham at the Pistonheads/Autosport show. Yet even with attendance figures down because of the poor weather, the Dodo had a good show and met a great many customers as well as some old friends. pj and Dom were even treated to dinner by James and Mike from Auto Finesse, because we helped them get the deal to look after forty member cars on the Pistonheads display. Gaz from Detail my Ride also turned up, and we took him out well past his bedtime, which is 7pm or something. The other memorable event was eating at Ismail’s restaurant in a Brummie gangland hotspot called Acock’s Green. Mainly because the poor waiters didn’t ‘get’ pj’s humour, so all irony, sarcasm and subtlety was lost on them completely.
