Dodo Juice Clay Bars

A clay bar might sound like the kind of nightspot that plays ABBA a little too frequently, but it's really the detailer's best friend - a soap sized chunk of putty that plucks embedded contaminants out of your paint. You'd be amazed what the sticky wonderbar removes... tar, bug remnants, railway fallout, meteorite dust and anything else invisibly coating your car's paintwork. Just make sure you use it before you wax (as it will probably strip that off too) and don't drop it on the floor. Unless you want to drag half the car park over your bonnet.

Use after washing, before a pre-wax cleanser, with plenty of clay bar lube (like Born Slippy) then feel the difference. the paint will be silky smooth. The grey clay has a gentler claying action than the purple version, but both come in a snazzy plastic storage case and are made to the original 'seven patent' clay bar formula.

Supernatural Clay Bar

As much as we love our Paint Putty, one of our suppliers suggested we try their triple bar clay. This is packaged like bright orange processed cheese, in between two bits of plastic. The idea is that you can tear off a smaller bit more easily and put it back into the wrapping when you've finished. You also get a little bit more in the case. 240g compared to 200g. Anyway, it's a mild to medium grade clay that's quite a versatile performer and its light colouring shows up the dirt really nicely - so you know when to chuck it. For legal reasons, this clay isn't for sale in the USA and we will deny any knowledge of its existence if you try and smuggle some across the border, hidden inside a huge brick of drugs.

Dodo Juice Fantastic Fur

When we harvest our dodos, it's not just the juice we use. Oh no. There isn't a single part of the dodo that goes to waste. From the beak (souvenir bottle openers) to the feet (mail order back scratchers), we use every ounce of our feathered friends in our industrial enterprise.

The most valuable part of this harvest, however, is the fine fur found on the underbelly of young dodos. This is the softest kind of material known to mankind, and as such, we have pilfered it for our own ends - to make the Fantastic Fur buffing cloth... perfect for the removal of polishes, compounds and cleansers during the preparation stage. To make it even more fantastic than it would have been normally, we get it edged in microsuede so that your paint will never even have to glance at a cotton stitched seam. Over the top, maybe. But oh-so good.

Dodo Juice Mr Pink

There was only one way we would make our pink interior detailing mitten a little more 'street'. And that was by naming it after a character in a Quentin Tarantino film. It was either that or dredge the gutter for sexual puns like 'Fistful of Pink' or 'Pink Pouch'. I quite liked them, but pj put his foot down, and he has big Norwegian feet, so I complied.

As for the mitt... well, it's designed to completely cover your hand, so you can reach between windscreen and dash without leaving greasy marks on the glass through skin contact. It's made from very soft microfibre and it's great for all kinds of interior cleaning, polishing and buffing. Only the cotton edging prevents us from recommending it for paintwork, as it's not as soft as microsuede.

Dodo Juice Mint Merkin

'Merkin' just happens to be my favourite word in the whole English dictionary. So it was a mere matter of time before it worked its way into the Dodo Juice line up. It actually gives its name to a green coloured waffle-weave window cloth. Waffle-weave is very absorbent and its texture makes it perfect for removing dirt, or polish residue, from glass - so the actual microfibre works a treat. But we really like it for its name. And the fact it's quite a cool green colour, although you may want to keep it away from your white Y-fronts the first time that you wash it, in case they turn minty. Mintiness can be contagious, you know.

Supernatural Window Waffle

If you like the saying 'forewarned is forearmed' then you're probably quite odd. But if you know what it means, you'll see the benefit of crisp, white microfibre cloths. The minute a speck of dirt appears on them, you can see the offending particle and keep it away from your paintwork. Or wash the microfibre immediately, consigning the particle in question to particle heaven. This is what makes the white Supernatural Window Waffle so special, and just that little bit better than the Mint Merkin.

Dodo Juice Blue Roo

If kangaroos were blue, round, skinned in soft microfibre on the outside and made from soft foam on the inside, well, we'd have flown to Australia already. It's the perfect set of requirements for a polish applicator. Soft, so it doesn't scratch the delicate paint surface. Foam-filled, so you can control how much product is dispensed by changing the pressure on the pad. And with a little pouchy thing to put your fingers inside, for extra purchase.

You can use these for wax as well, but we think they're a little too absorbent, so we recommend the Supernatural Finger Mitt instead.

Supernatural Fine Cut Metal Polish

A feature of cars is that they often have metal bits on them that need a good polish once in a while. It’s normally the tail pipes, as we brits haven’t been into yankee style chrome grilles (and other adornments) since the Austin Allegro Vanden Plas passed away in 1980-something. But if your tail pipes do need some love, we have the perfect polish for them - Supernatural Fine Cut Metal Polish. It’s been developed to clean and shine most metals, including chrome, stainless and aluminium – as gently as possible. It’s available in either a metal bottle on its own (with flip top cap, for easy dispensing) or in a kit with a microsuede low-lint cloth that’s perfect for polishing work. Please note that the act of polishing metal will turn cloths black, so don’t use your finest microfibre for this purpose.
