had the opportunity to have a go with a DAS-6 with a softer than life finishing pad and a non-abrasive water based chemical compound - honestly, unless the owner had done it first, i would not even have thought it. although there was more of a sheen (not shine), it left the matt looking completely even on his numbered RS500. [no more patchy finish 8)]

The finish seems really nice. You should consider getting a buff daddy though :P

no, not on this occasion, LPL is a glaze so would give a glossy finish, no good for the matt - great for the shine 8)

I have had this conversation with a few other detailers who have worked on matte finishes after working on the BMW M3 in matte, being a paint and being wetsanded down to a smooth finish by the factory could this being polished within reason, but I dont think any detailers were willing to give it a try lol I think it was even braver to try it on the 3M matte vinyl.

I recognize that detailing bay. Carclean does have a great space to work in, the rs500 looks great. What pad where you using?

We aren't rushing into it as we are busy with other projects and it's a tiny market. Matt finishes are a pain to maintain and go in and out of favour all the time. Most owners remove them after the novelty wears off, if a wrap.

Clearly Menthol is a great matt finish cleaner. For protection, we don't have anything we'd truly recommend yet - we may try and create a truly opaque wax to go on top at some point, but everything we have done is aimed at gloss and relevelling paint, so it may take a while to sort.
