Hello there,

I,m taking delivery of my new car In couple of weeks and wanted to protect the car myself which is why I,m here and looking for advice. I,be read through some stuff and have a plan forming which is as follows but I welcome any comments, hints and tips...

It's a solid black merc prone to scratch marks so I wanted to be careful... I don,t think I,ll use clay bar treatment as am amateur and don,t want to ruin new car.mi will be doing all this by hand and don,t have pressure washer.

1. Washing
I will wash the car with two bucket method and wool washmit

What washing product should I buy to prep new car?

2. Cleanser
After washing was going to use lime prime lite to remove any wax etc. is this ok for new car?

3. Sealant
Was then going use poorboys xp to seal the paint. Ok for new car?

4. Wax
Was then going to use supernatural as a final wax

5. Interior
Will then clean and seal glass and apply a product to dash etc.

Can I seal panoramic glass roof with sealant and wax ?

Weel sealant
Was going to use a Product to seal the wheels not sure which one though?

Will the above be ok and have I missed anything?

Thanks for your help,
Louis

Just my input mate...

1. Washing

Sounds good to me, a pressure washer is quite important for initial rinsing to remove as much as possible before the first contact with mitt if possible

What washing product should I buy to prep new car?

Dodo's Born To Be Mild all the way mate, you'll be hard pushed to find anything much better.

2. Cleanser
After washing was going to use lime prime lite to remove any wax etc. is this ok for new car?

LPL will be ok when used correctly, it can be a bit tricky on older paint types but you should be fine on your new stuff, just keep it to small working areas and DO NOT let it dry, wipe on wipe off.

3. Sealant
Was then going use poorboys xp to seal the paint. Ok for new car?

Can't comment as I've never used it, should be ok

4. Wax
Was then going to use supernatural as a final wax

PERFECT! really fantastic results on solid colours

5. Interior
Will then clean and seal glass and apply a product to dash etc.

Can highly recommend SN glass sealant but shouldn't be any need to cover a new dash in anything

Can I seal panoramic glass roof with sealant and wax ?

You can  but I'd opt for a glass sealant myself

Weel sealant
Was going to use a Product to seal the wheels not sure which one though?

SN hybrid would be my first choice for wheels, a doddle to use and lasts ages too

Hope thats been of some use :thumb:
