Dodo Juice Main Range Panel Pots and Test Tubes

With no less than eight waxes in our main range, it was only natural that fans of the flightless bird would like to prod a finger in all of them. We therefore obliged with 30ml panel pots - small sample jars that give you a taster of what the Dodo has to offer. You're not going to do a stretch Hummer with one, but people have reported multiple coats on small cars from a single pot, so they're pretty good in terms of coverage.

Straight 8 contains all of our main range waxes, in a single Test Tube. Perfect for anyone who's indecisive or keen on experimentation. For those who have narrowed it down to the creamy soft wax range, we have the Soft 4 Test Tube. And for those who like things a little harder, there's the Hard 4 sample kit.

Minutes after introducing our wax Test Tubes, the requests started coming in for colour specific sample kits. So whilst poor old pj was cranking up the design studio, I started to work out what we'd put in each sample kit. A hard and soft wax suiting a light, warm or dark colour range was obvious. But it needed something else. Something. limey. We therefore decided to bundle the soft and hard wax sample pots with a slightly-smaller version of Lime Prime or Lime Prime Lite (our pre-wax cleansers) because everyone knows that perfect prep is the key to getting the best out of any wax. It makes these Light, Warm and Dark Test Tubes the ultimate introduction to Dodo Juice. Enjoy.

Our Lime and Lite Test Tubes contain two sample pots of wax along with the bottle. So after a quick consultation with Jez, our Head of Product Development, Procurement and Putting-the-lids-on, we calculated that Doublewax would fit in nicely. This means you can try some Lime Prime or Lime Prime Lite, coat it in peppermint hard wax and then add a special shiny topping of spearmint soft wax. Enough to make a car very happy indeed.

Take four superhero waxes and shove them in a little plastic cylinder. Will they escape? Will they save the world? Probably not. But they will attempt to bling up your car to an insane level. The Fantastic Four kit contains our best selling or most famous waxes, namely Purple Haze (dark soft wax), Blue Velvet (dark hard wax), Supernatural (all round uber-wax) and Doublewax hard wax. Use them individually in sequence to find a favourite, or slap them all on together in some kind of deranged superwax orgy. The choice is yours.

Ever wondered what carnauba is? What it tastes like? Whether it really is as hard as concrete or as soft as a bunny's tummy? Well, now is the time to find out. You can own your very own pot of flakes. We're also giving you some Flat Earth, our 70% block of pure carnauba, so you can see what it's really like in a high dose. And then, to show you the delights of molten carnauba in a more usable form, we present two waxes: Rubbishboy's Original Edition and Rubbishboy's Juiced Edition. The difference? One is Ben Boulton's legendary homemade carnauba brew. The other is our handmade, yet production-enhanced formula.. It's made to a similar recipe but done the Dodo way. Which is better? There's only one way to find out.

Traditionally, wax manufacturers bring out an expensive superwax and claim it to be the best thing since sliced Warbuton's. Of course, the only way to prove or disprove the claim is to remortgage your kidneys and buy a pot. But the problem is then that because you've spent so much, you have to tell people it's amazing. Because no-one likes a loser who pees their hard-earned groats up the wall on something rubbish. Therefore, when we did our special uber-wax, Supernatural, we decided to let people sample it first for a fraction of the price. Then if they liked it, they could splash out on the fancy one. And if they didn't, they could sell the half used sampler on ebay to someone else who's a little bit curious.

Remember the good old days, when people thought that you'd drop off the side of the Earth if you went beyond Spalding? Well, those dark times are alive and well. At least, they are when it comes to carnauba waxes.

You see, people believe all sorts of rubbish about carnauba. A manufacturer will pick a figure out of the air, let Carol Vorderman divide it into itself 35 times, square the result then multiply the answer by 78. And then stick it on the outside of the jar for people to gawp at. These people will then buy it over another wax that has had some equally horrendous calculation applied to its carnauba percentage figure. And then tell their mates how clever they have been, before booking a ticket to Spalding with End of the World Tours.

The fact is, you can't trust a figure that doesn't show the working out. Nor one that lacks independent verification.

And to prove our point that '70% pure carnauba content' is a myth (assuming you expect 70% of the product in the jar to be pure carnauba) we made some 70% pure carnauba wax. Guess what? It doesn't look, feel or work like a usable car wax. Because it isn't. In fact, you'd need to use about half the carnauba to get the recipe working properly.

But to remind people of mankind's folly, we sell the resulting Flat Earth wax as a paperweight. And very nice it is, too. Just don't expect to wax a car with it.
